    HEAR ME

My sister in law has crossed over to the other side. In her short 50 years full of struggle, she did leave a beautiful legacy of children and grandchildren who are so special to me.

***If you or someone you love is struggling –> 988 <– is not just a suicide hotline, it’s a crisis hotline for any struggle. Call, text, chat. Tell them what’s bothering you. Tell them what you’re thinking about and can’t shake. They are trained especially to help you. They care. I care.

There is also the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration’s (SAMHSA) National Helpline at 1-800-662-HELP (4357).

Don’t hold it in. We aren’t built to face tough emotions alone, no matter how hard we try.

    Hear me???

    Journal Practice Update

I am writing all my blessings. I noticed when I did that before, I felt truly rich, more rich than ever before in my life. Not with things but it made me realize and appreciate more than ever, dozens of things throughout my day that I wouldn’t even think twice about before.

    Embroidery update

My neighbor had a baby girl last week. It was easy to hop over to five below and see what they had I could put her name on. Found this beautiful blue floral duffel bag, made of canvas. Nice soft texture. Not plasticky. (is that a word?). So I grabbed that and added her name in bright pink large lettering. Since I had a picture of little miss Isla as well, I made a simple minimalist design with the help of canva, and put it in a frame.

Both gifts cost under $20 total and I was so happy with the result. Added a card, and waited for the perfect time to leave it on their porch. They DO have a newborn after all, and I didn’t want to disturb them.

Finally it wasn’t raining and I happened to see the husband head down the street walking the dog. I brought it over and left it on the porch. Perfect timing. Soon I received a thank you text from little Isla’s mom. “Thank you so much for the gifts. They are so cute!!!”

    #winning 🙂

Fostering Hope is a volunteer-run, donation-based, 501(c)(3) organization that serves the foster care community. Our mission is to empower youth experiencing foster care, nurture families, and restore dignity to every child we serve. Our goals are to reduce the barriers that stand in the way of people opening their hearts and homes to fostering and to make the transition into the foster care system less traumatic for children. We provide free resources to foster families, kinship care families, pre- and post-adoptive families, biological families on safety plans with their local child welfare office, and young adults who have recently aged out. Through comprehensive support, advocacy, and compassionate care, we are committed to creating a world where every child experiencing foster care feels valued, cherished, and equipped to thrive.

It was a very busy Saturday at the Foster Share closet where we served almost 30 children, and supplied them with clothing and other essential items. Ages ranged between newborn and 17 years old.
