For Everyone Who is Hard on Themselves

I picked up this book called Modern Guide to Energy Clearing by Barbara Moore, to learn some practices that will work for me, to feel more like my true nature, to get in touch with my own soul.

In the first 35 pages I have already made a wonderful discovery that I want to share with you, in hopes that this exercise will bring you a bit of joy and peace about yourself.

Part 1 is Spiritual and Energetic Well-being.

“Based on my own experiences and the information in these pages, I share ideas an suggestions to get you started on your path to becoming the free and awesome person you were born to be.”

Part 2 starts the personal exercises.

Now it’s time to pull out your journal to reflect on some questions and explore some ideas.

  1. What are your values as you understand them right now?
  2. Write out your schedule for a normal day.
  3. Write out your monthly budget
  4. How are the items in question 1 reflected in the lists from 2 and 3?
  5. Based on 2 and 3, what might someone assume your values are?”

I loved how she worded the first 4 questions and I got to work. Normally, I got hung up on where to write this, what notebook, (hello fellow perfectionists!!) but I really really want my energy clear and I’m short on time.

Question 5 is what got me.

I stepped away from my journal to give me some space, and came back to it a few minutes later, to review 2 and 3, as if I were a stranger.

The things that occurred to me were just beautiful. I wrote them with love for myself for the first time in a long time. They go something like this:

Based on these lists of your schedule and your budget, your values look like:

  • You want to be a good dog mom.
  • You want to be a good wife.
  • You do what you gotta do.
  • You enjoy being helpful to others.
  • You value education, learning even when you don’t have to.
  • You like to be tidy.
  • You are hard on yourself.
  • You are looking for something.
  • You like tech.
  • You like helping friends and causes.
  • You are saving money. You see a future.
  • You’ve set up your life not overspending.
  • You like having a pretty home.
  • You like having fund with friends.

Nothing in this list is anything to be ashamed of. Not one thing.

This is what a stranger would say, in a glimpse of my life. I could feel stress, worry, anxiety literally leaving my body.

Talk about energy clearing!

This really touched my heart.

I hope that you try this exercise and maybe even pick up her book for more goodness for your soul.
