I completed the 5 hour course on animal communication with Nancy Orlen Weber!
I’ll admit feeling a little defeated at the end of class, feeling like I wasn’t able to complete assignments or make successful connection with living animals.
However, reviewing my notes, it turns out I did have some poignant experiences that give me hope.
Our first exercise in class was to connect with a pet we know, and interact with them. That’s all the instruction we got for real so I closed my eyes, got centered and gave it a shot.
Holly
Voila! Our beloved dog Holly, who lives in spirit, showed up wagging her tail. I envisioned greeting her and petting her – so happy to see each other. Then she suddenly ran around doing zoomies just like she did when she was alive, around our yard. It made me laugh, as I had forgotten that’s something she used to do. It was so good seeing her.
Opened our eyes, back in class. Guess what Nancy said?
“Anything surprising, is actual communication from them.”
Once she said that I realized… Holly did communicate with me by doing zoomies!!! Oh my gosh my heart filled with warmth and joy and my eyes fought back tears. Holly… ❤️❤️❤️

Then for the next exercise she showed a picture of someone’s pet dog and asked us to learn if the dog is alive or lives in spirit, age and gender and something about it’s personality. Well, I got less than nothing.
Afterward, she did let us know the pet is alive and a girl. We went around the room and people reported on what they saw/felt/sensed.
In my spiritual journey I’ve noticed that I have a hard time connecting with souls who are still living here on earth, as opposed to living in spirit. Connecting with those who have passed is all I’ve been able to do to this point. Not good or bad, just something to notice.
The Gray Cat
Then she just threw us into the fire basically haha. We were supposed to sit with a classmate in a breakout room, and try to read an animal of theirs, just from knowing a name. No other clues, alive or passed, gender, age… nothing. Ok, here we go.
It was my turn, so I got centered and went into (I’ll call it) the ‘spirit room’ and waited. Not long afterwards, a cat showed up – gray and white. “Is it a cat?” I asked, knowing it probably wasn’t hers. Of course she said no. I was definitely feeling a cat, but wasn’t experienced enough to just say what I was seeing yet.
Then another classmate jumped in while I was doing this and said “actually I see a cat around you“. Ha!!! Ok, I didn’t realize 1. that others could sense what I sense, and 2. that yes, I was actually sensing a cat rubbing on my legs.
Whose gray cat is this? Anyone?
After that validation I noticed that it was gray and white. I didn’t recognize her, but she was lovely. My partner had a gray and white cat before we met, so I made a note to ask about that.
Unfortunately I didn’t feel my classmate’s dog, that she and I were hoping would come through. Still, it was an interesting experience, and I’m so thankful to have had it validated!
The Pile of Dogs
I don’t remember if it was during class or between sessions, but I was in ‘the spirit room’ calling dog’s name to see if we can connect. I was sensing and feeling beings coming closer, a dog here and there and a cat here and there coming to greet me with joy. It was such a fun experience that I just adored. I got to go there and hang out with some really beautiful soul dogs and cats.
When they kept coming I started to feel like laughing, like the feeling of so much joy and fun, I thought, “How many dogs can I play with right now?” and all of the sudden I got the message that in spirit, here, I can play with ALL THE DOGS. Meaning ALL that ever lived and all that are living now.
Then a pile of playful dogs appeared right in front of me and I laughed out loud and felt all their loving and fun energy all at once! What an experience! What a surprise! In spirit I get to love all the dogs.
Truman
Nancy asked us to practice on our own between classes and challenged us to try to find a lost dog and find out where they are. Oof, I hadn’t even considered that we could do that! Wow! What a touching thing to be able to do for everyone!

So I went online, and found a facebook post about local dog that was lost just a few days earlier. I downloaded his picture, and got to work. “Truman! Truman!,” I called in the spirit room.
Didn’t feel or sense anything, so I tried again later. “Trumannnn, come here boy!” “Your family misses you and wants to find you! Can you tell me where you are?” Finally I pictured him in front of me, kind of floating in front of my face, and I reached out to hold him, say hello and get to know him when SUDDENLY he licked my face!
THAT was definitely a surprise! All the dogs I’ve ever had know I don’t like that so they don’t do it. This dog didn’t know me and that was the first thing he did. Wow. We made contact!
I asked him to show me anything about where he is, to show me what he sees. But I wasn’t able to get a clear message.
Conclusion
This was such a cool experience, I’m glad to be able to capture it here on my blog. The intention of this space is for me to revisit when I’m not feeling myself, and to maybe make a few kindred friends along the way.
What do you think? Is this something that you would try? Why or why not?
Peace and love to you,
Jen
